Documentary mini task

A documentary is using pictures or interviews with people involved in real events to provide a factual report on a particular subject.

A expository documentary speaks directly to the viewer, often in the form of an authoritative commentary employing voiceover or titles, proposing a strong argument and point of view. These films are rhetorical, and try to persuade the viewer.

An example of one is a documentary called “the scene”. This is a good example because it ticks all the boxes when it comes to this type of documentary.
An expository documentary talks to the viewer as if she or he is actually there. They usually have a strong male voice to do the voiceovers, for a more strong meaning behind the words he says. These documentaries will often try to make the viewer agree with their opinion.

An observational documentary is probably the most analyzed mode of them all. The form is also referred to as cinema veritĂ©, direct cinema or fly-on-the-wall documentaryObservational docs strive for cinematic realism.

An example of one is the documentary called “hoops dream”. This is because it ticks all the boxes when it comes to this type of documentary.
A observational documentary is a type of documentary which is usually referred to as “fly on the wall” documentary, and this type of documentary focuses the most on trying to be as realistic as possible.

An Interactive Documentary is web and multimedia documentary. with interactivity that present non-linear narratives. These features are based on. new media which is combination of cinema and digital technologies.

An example of one is “bear 27”. This is a good example of an interactive documentary because it ticks all the boxes when it comes to the type of documentary. Access and privacy can affect a production in a lot of ways, for example the releases and permissions are some of the mains things that play a part in it.
A interactive documentary is a type of documentary which uses multimedia and features non-linear narratives.

A reflexive documentary is a type of documentary that promotes truth and calls the viewers attention to the filmmaking process. Reflexive and participatory modes of documentary both seek to heighten awareness from the viewers' perspective so that they can gain appreciation to the filmmaking process.

An example of one is “Lenny D”. This is a great example because it ticks all the boxes when it comes to this type of documentary.
Reflexive documentaries are a type of documentary which promotes the truth and shows people the filmmaking process, this is done to make awareness and appreciation to filmmaking.

A performative documentary is a type of documentary that is the direct opposite of the observational where unobtrusive observation of the subject is the director's aim. Performative documentary emphasizes the filmmaker's own involvement with the subject.

An example of one is “healthy eating”. This is a good example because it ticks all the boxes when it comes to this type of documentary.  The use of dramatization and re enactments is useful because it engages the viewer as they will  be able to see the event actually happen, and it makes people have a clearer picture of what’s happening in the documentary.
Performative documentaries are the complete opposite of an observational one, this is because the filmmaker gets to put their own involvement with the subject.

In conclusion, my documentary film making philosophy is that I always want to tell the truth, but I’ll only interesting parts of the filming that will engage people the most. I believe that a documentarist does have a contract to the viewer to show only the truth, but they often cut things out and create things to come across the way they want, so in some ways they are lying but not really. I believe that the ends does not always justify the means.

I think the most reliable and honest documentary type is the "observational" this is because it is all real footage and has no acting or people from the film-making team being  involved.
